Capitalism Reading Group
Friday, February 23, 2024 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM EST
Virtual on Zoom
This semester the Capitalism Reading Group will expand our focus from erotic economies to domestic economies to think about the family as a site of alienated labor, exploitation, struggle, and anti-capitalist resistance. We will read classic and contemporary texts that diagnose the situation of the family (and so-called women’s work therein) under capitalism and rethink the meaning and form of family for anti-capitalist futures.
In this session we will be discussing Caliban and the Witch: Women, the Body and Primitive Accumulation by Silvia Federici .
To be added to the group's email list that includes the zoom link, please reach out to the group's coordinator, Kylie Erfani (kmusolf@gmu.edu).
