Slavery Studies Reading Group

This reading group discusses recent books and articles involving slavery from different disciplinary and geographical perspectives. For each meeting, participants can either complete a monograph or a shorter reading (either a chapter or article) in case reading the book is unrealistic. Participants are always welcome to attend and discuss even if they have not completed any of these readings.

For this meeting, please read either Tiffany Lethabo King, The Black Shoals: Offshore Formations of Black and Native Studies OR recommended Chapter 3:  “At the Pores of the Plantation”

If you wish to be added to our email list, please send an email to me, Jane Hooper (jhooper3@gmu.edu).
