Music and Society Reading Group

Friday, October 20, 2023 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM EDT

Please join us to discuss provocative work on music from a broad range of disciplinary perspectives. Avoiding technical, formal analysis, we nevertheless seek to examine the ways musical elements produce meaning and inform identities and movements. We are interested in approaches that engage popular music from around the world to illuminate broader social and political questions.

We will meet via Zoom! Please reach out to either the coordinator, Matt Karush (mkarush@gmu.edu), or chr@gmu.edu for the link.
